about

StandArt (LP) is not your typical album with a moving love story. It is an experimental journey for those who appreciate independent electronic music, and a personal exploration of creativity and freedom for Vecera.

The album was inspired by the freedom of drawing, where Vecera learned to let go of labels and trust the creative process. Applying the same thought process to the album, Vecera created a collection of tracks that reflect his unbounded creativity and the joy of experimentation.

Each track in the album has its own story. For example, Deformed Tibetans was created using only one sample of a Tibetan bowl, which was 8 seconds long. Vecera's idea behind this piece was to use only one 4-second sample to create the entire track without any effects, except for the final phase of polishing the song, where he added chorus, auto pan (from Ableton), and compressor.

Sensus, on the other hand, was created using the sound from an 8-second video clip, which was a stereo recording. Vecera chose to use the left and right channels separately to synthesize the low frequencies from the left channel, and the mid and high end from the right channel. The dynamics of the track were generated by applying the visual representation of the audio from the original 8-second video clip.

Metropolitan is another track in the album that features a unique creation process. Vecera used a 7-second audio sample that he warped back and forth (octaves up and octaves down) to get equal subdivisions of higher and lower notes, which he used to produce the final composition. The audio sample was taken from an accidentally filmed 7-second video of the live concert of Vecera's other music band, Avis Rara. The loop was so consonant that Vecera instantly knew he was onto something.

Sunflower is a track that consists of 36 vocal tracks that were originally created for a choir, and then slowed down. The inspiration for the aesthetics of this track came from Radiohead's Pyramid Song, which was slowed down by 800%.

Caterva Pecus is a track that was composed using 18 clarinet samples that Vecera got in collaboration with his friend Haroldas Parulis. Vecera had the pleasure of exploring the fabulous melodies of his friend's clarinet and creating this piece.

Caterva Pecus was inspired by the collective behavior of entities and animals, and how it relates to human kind in today's world. Vecera believes that in today's world, we tend to see ourselves as individuals, losing ourselves in our own minds, when in reality, we are all part of a larger organism, living on this planet and obedient to the same patterns as birds, ants etc.

Metamorphosis is the only track in the album that was created beforehand as a plan and brought to life step by step, following a set of rules that guide the listener through a journey of self-discovery. The track takes the listener through various stages, including birth, adaptation, self-awareness, changing habits, self-control, stability, balance, and freedom.

Vecera is honored to share that StandArt (LP) is also the first NFT album released in Lithuania. He hopes that this album brings joy and inspiration to those who listen to it, and invites to join him on a journey of creativity and freedom.
